Men's Breakfast with the Mayor

Every third Saturday morning the men of St. James and St. Brendan gather for food and fellowship at the Guild Hall in Port Colborne.

This week our guest speaker was Mayor Vance Badaway.

Dig in!

Ahhh.... grease. Hey... is that an orange?

Bee Gone!

We've had a honey bee hive in the roof of our church for quite some time now, and it was time to get it removed once and for all. Hopefully the bees will forgive us.

The pest control people taking all the necessary precautions.

Some old honeycomb... probably a few years old. The newer honeycomb was deeper into the roof.

50-60 lbs. of honeycomb came out of the roof!

Look out! The bees were swarming at one point.

Seder Supper

This year during Holy Week (on Maundy Thursday) we held a Seder Supper. The Seder Supper is an ordered meal that follows the pattern of the Jewish Passover meal. It is a meal full of symbolism and participation and it helped us to prepare for our Easter Sunday celebration. Thanks to Leslie for her organizing and for all the others who helped prepare for this special
evening.

First Annual Easter "Senior's Get-Together"

For the first time ever we held a "Get-Together" for senior citizens who have a difficult time getting out to our regular Sunday Services. It was a great afternoon! 30 or 40 people gathered for a time of worship followed by a hot lunch. Each person was also given a lovely flower as a reminder of how important all our parishioners are to us. We hope to do something similar in Advent. Thank you to all our volunteers!
